St Ives 2

the narrow cobbled streets lend a sense of timelessness to the otherwise bustling town. The beautiful hanging baskets make it feel like somewhere in Provence.

Thank you Spot for the little tour of St. Ives. We visited there once and loved it. We have a funny story about the local dialect. When we asked for parking directions, I was sure the man said, "Go up to the Rotary Club, you'll find parking there". So we went in the direction indicated and sure enough, we found the Rugby Club car park. He was saying RUGBY! We still laugh about that one.
One of my husband's ancestors, Euphemia Charlton Fortune, was an artist and spent some time in St. Ives painting the harbor. We have a lovely reproduction of one of her paintings entitled "Summer in St. Ives". It's beautiful and quaint with seagulls and fishing boats pulled up on the beach.
