In addition to its purging problems it was used for certain gynacological conditions to which, it was believed, lady fairies were particularly prone. But let's not go there, eh, Spot? well, I just thought it ought to be called something like laxative flax as its latin name is linum catharticum, or maybe little flux. In this instance I blame the Irish.
